A New Post...

I've decided to try playing around with a new website/blog.  You can view my first post here:  http://web.me.com/taskforce20/and_I_thought_to_myself/Blog/Blog.html

The site is no where near ready, but what the hell.  You may want to update your RSS feeds and email subscriptions.

Enjoy.

An Update from the Doctor

So I called the doctor a couple of  weeks ago to see what was going on.  He told me when I was there the week of Christmas that he was going to call the pathologist to get some ideas on my treatment for my Follicular Mucinosis.  He said we would carry on with the current treatment, and there was no need for me to see a sub-specialist.  My current case does not present itself as something that normaly turns into skin cancer.  My current case is multiple spots, but limited to the face.  (Multiple is an understatement).  He said we should see each other twice a year, and that I may not have to get a biopsy when I go.  I should  call him back if something unusual happens, but other than that, see you mid-year.

So you would think I would be happy with that.

The way he said, "if something unusual happens" did not give me a lot of comfort about his understanding of my condition.  I should have asked him, "Can you be a little more specific?"  But part of me understands.  This is very uncommon, so he doesn't have a lot to go off of.

I'm tossing around the idea of going to another doctor.  Wouldn't it be great to be able to find a doctor that has treated this before!!  Maybe I'll call around to all the dermatologists in my insurance plan and ask them if they have treated this before.  I'm not really scared of getting cancer.  The way I view it, we ALL have a chance of developing some kind of cancer, so there really is no change.  However, I would like the bumps to go away.  I'd like to be abe to upload a photo to Facebook or Flickr without photoshopping out the bumps.

Decisions, decisions.

On a side note, I'm thinking about changing the location of this blog.  I'm tossing around using WordPress.  You have to have some idea of html, etc, so that may not ba a good idea for me.  Without it, your're limited to the theme you pick and whatever options it has.  The other option is to use iWeb and post to my own website hosted by GoDaddy.com or MobileMe.  I haven't decided yet.  If I go the iWeb route, I do not know how I would import my current posts.

So, if you were me, would you go see another doctor?
